Terms of Service
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Meeting Transcriber is free and open-source software. By using it you agree to the terms below. They are deliberately short.
License
The app is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify and distribute it under that license. The full text is in the LICENSE file on GitHub.
Cost
It is free. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no paid tier.
Recording other people is your responsibility
The app records meetings. Laws about recording conversations differ from place to place, and some require that you tell the other participants or get their consent first. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules that apply to you and to the people on your calls. The app is a tool; how you use it is up to you.
Outside services you choose to use
If you configure the summary step to use a cloud provider, or download models from a third-party host, those services have their own terms and privacy policies. Those are between you and them.
No warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. It might have bugs, miss things, or get a transcript wrong. Do not rely on it as the sole record of anything that matters legally or financially. To the extent allowed by law, the author is not liable for any damages arising from its use. This mirrors the MIT License.
Changes
These terms may change. The current version lives on this page with the date above, and the history is public on GitHub.
